Once a year, around the first of April, the Erasmus University organizes the Praise of Folly Lecture. It is conducted in Erasmus's spirit, but in honour of Folly. This year, Niels Helsloot took pride in breaking into this scientific ode to folly. In line with his dissertation, which appeared a half year ago, he complements Erasmus on the basis of Friedrich Nietzsche's plea for a gay science.
